GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The EB7810/14 Evaluation Board is intended to demonstrate

the performance of the SPT7810 and SPT7814, monolithic

high speed analog-to-digital converters (ADC). Both SPT7810

and SPT7814 have an analog input range of ±2 V. The

SPT7810 is capable of digitizing an analog input signal up to

10 MHz into 10-bit words at a minimum of 20 MSPS update

rate, while the SPT7814 is capable of digitizing an analog

input signal up to 20 MHz into 10-bit words at a minimum of

40 MSPS update rate. They are pin compatible.

The EB7810/14 consists of seven separate sections:

- Reference circuits

- Power Supply circuits

- SPT7810 or SPT7814, 10-bit ADC

- Clock driver circuit

- Output ECL data latches available through 26-pin female ribbon connector

- ECL-to-TTL output translators available through 26-pin female ribbon connector
